The album contains many different styles of singing so most everyone is bound to at least like a few songs. John’s voice is enjoyable but far from exelent. Normally this would turn me off from the CD but the skills of Bill Titus on guitar and Ted Greenberg on the drums make the songs flow well.
Although I enjoyed listning to this album I do have some complaints. Some of the songs run on, making you feel as if they would have been much better if ended sooner. Besides that, I can’t see anything else that I would change.
I do not have John’s other album so I can’t compare it but when I first heard it I thought it was well done, mixing music like that of the Stone Temple Pilots, and Cake and ending up with a album that grunge, rock, and alternative fans can all enjoy! There is even one rap song, “Cabbies won’t go to Harlem.” John doesn’t provide the vocals for this one, thank God!
In my opinion, this album is entertaining and worth buying. It contains songs that you will want to listen to again and again!
